Prerequisites

To qualify for this course you must be an LMT, ND, Midwife, MD, Nurse practitioner, or student in one of these fields. I will be including the introductory pelvic floor level one within the mentorship. No previous pelvic floor therapy training is necessary.

Advanced bodywork For women’s health

  • Abdominal and Uterine Massage

  • Pelvic Floor Therapy

  • Lumbar, sacral and hip assessment and myofascial release and trigger point therapy

  • cupping therapy for women’s health

Botanical Medicine for Women’s Health

  • Develop the skills to use botanical medicine to address common women’s health conditions

  • Create relationships with plant spirit allies and be able to use them with your clients

  • Learn integrative medicine treatments to support women through life phases

Somatic Awareness & Mind-Body Techniques

  • Learn how to use your intuition to guide your treatments

  • Give your clients mindfulness tools they can use for pelvic pain management and body image issues

  • Learn somatic techniques to increase efficacy of your bodywork treatments.

  • Provide trauma-informed care for your clients.

Detailed Course Summary

+ WEEKEND 1: Abdominal/Uterine massage, hip alignment manual therapy

In this weekend we will review the anatomy of the abdomen and pelvis including the muscles, innervation, fascial connections and ligamentous structures. We will fine tune our skills of abdomino-pelvic assessment and treatment.

  • assessment of sacral and hip alignment using basic orthopedic tests
  • blocking and myofascial techniques for hip alignment
  • myofascial release and exercises for the psoas
  • diastasic recti assessment and treatment
  • uterine alignment
  • abdominal scar treatment
  • pelvic floor myofascial release, trigger point therapy and strain/counterstrain

+ WEEKEND 2: Trauma informed care and Somatic Dialogue

Offering professional bodywork which has the capacity to navigate the wide range of histories, realities and experiences of all of our clients. Holding space to unravel frozen emotions, Trauma-informed bodywork means offering professional bodywork which has the capacity to navigate the wide range of histories, realities and past traumatic experiences

Use vitalist body based awareness questions to track emotional underpinning of physical symptoms. When we bring awareness to a sensation and really open to the present moment, using the right questions, the body can reveal processes around deeply held emotions and thought patterns. During this weekend we will learn the simple yet profound technique of somatic dialogue.

+ WEEKEND 3: Rectal Work and Making friends with the body

Body dysmorphia and body shame. Tools to guide clients towards loving themselves.

Objectives

  • to understanding shame in the body
  • how to develop shame resilience
  • mindfulness tools for body dysmorphia
  • understand how shame can effect sexuality
  • learn tools to give your clients to create a new relationship around their bodies and sexuality
  • mindful eating
  • learn how to perform rectal work in a safe way.
  • how to access pelvic floor muscles without doing internal work
  • Conditions covered: Coccyx pain, constipation, fecal incontinence

+ WEEKEND 4:Fertility, Pregnancy, Postpartum Care and Cupping for the pelvic manual therapist.

  • Botanical therapy lecture: herbs for pre-conception, postpartum care, miscarriage and pregnancy loss
  • Practice pelvic floor and abdominal techniques reviewed in week one.
  • learn the history of cupping in women’s health
